ETHOSENS SS2010

SS2010 collection
I always feel odd in the stereotype of manly and menswear. We respected traditional style and
sewing of the men's wear in this collection. And "doubt" to the tradiction ocurred of us when we
thought about modern mode. We wantes to widen limitation of the menswear by expressing it.
by Ethosens

Yui Hashimoto graduated from Esmod tokyo in 2000, afterwards worked as an assistant in
Yab-Yum and Lolo. His own brand started by the name of ETHOS in 2003 and ETHOSENS
started with the AW 07/08 and presents the collection twice a year in Tokyo.
'ETHOS' has the meaning Habit, and 'SENS' has the meaning Sense. ETHOSENS was born
fusing these two words. We think that there is new discovery by paying more attention to all
senses to be born from habit.
We aim at the innovate expression that can become the standard in the future, and we want
to pursue the essential creation that can bring new sense of values in the world.

FABRICS INTERSEASON SS2010 ''latte mama"

____fabrics interseason
collection
ss2010 „latte mama“

the title of the ss 2010 collection „latte mama“ is a synonym for generative lifestyles. the form and
the standard of a bourgeoise life. the fashionable surface, gentrified, public space, city districts,
which look and function nearly the same in every metropolis. registered within following scenic setting:

she (emancipated) speaks with him (creative) on the mobile phone, drinking latte macchiato
(organic, fair trade), while it (beautiful) sleeps in the baby buggy. afterwards she moves/drives it
(mc laren) and it (the child) and latte mummy demonstrates, what she and it posess: right you are.
make some room.

thus: reproduction potency, gestures of dominance, prosperity and a social surplus value, which
accompanying is both defined and transported through form and contents of design and fashion.
so to speak: dominant design authorizes dominant gestures.

every product of formal design embodies the utopia of a space, in which it can appear in an ideal way.
this abstractly planned space is always a political space at the same time, which implies certain ways
of ordering, certain values and relationships among people.

____fabrics interseason tries to create and offer alternatives - clearances, improvisation - within
this defined set of forms, values and their promises. formally and contentwise they explore issues
whether in this case fashion and design could be suitable as communication tools.

____fabrics interseason (vienna) are Wally Salner and Johannes Schweiger.

the coordinates of fashion and design in general, contemporary fine arts, cultural history, performance

and (electronic)music describe the areas and interfaces, within which ___fabrics interseason locate and

position their works and projects. in accordance with their artistic method, the projects, performances

and the collections and presentation are based upon concepts which are developed from an intensive

research of socio-political discourses and phenomena.

___fabrics interseason are interested in codes, which manifest themselves in individual and collective

clothing patterns, in identity-generated values and their readability. the collections do not only function

as the analysis of these codes and even the analyses of a live within a surface (with all their socio-political

implications); but because of their ability to be worn, they also infiltrate an exclusive and highly individual

lifestyle by deliberately proclaiming a critical or political stance. the approach to fabrics, textiles and

fashion not only happens on a "superficial" level, the main interests are set on the content and life within a surface.

___fabrics interseason present their collections twice a year during paris pret-a-porter fashion week and

continually take part in international art-exhibitions.

ALEX TURVEY work

Alex Turvey is a 26 year-old director, graphic designer and animator with an
incredible and recognizable aesthetic, which he describes as “surreal folk horror
with sequins”.
Recently gaining recongnition as one of 15 creatives who will define the future of
arts in Britain by the Independent. Alex Turvey is a director, designer and
illustrator with an eclectic oeuvre of projects ranging from music videos, fashion
films & commercials to illustrated charity cereal boxes. Having grown up by the sea
in Cornwall, he now lives by the river in London where he started his career at
Precursor, then co-founded the Norway-UK partnership Elefant Art and now runs his
own eponymous studio. Alex likes nothing better than textural landscapes,
anatomical drawings and glitter; and his surreal visions have been applied to work
for the likes of Shakira, SEAT, Dazed & Confused, Ford, Polydor Records, MTV,
Topshop, Budweiser, Nike & Sugar Puffs. Alex also recently gained recongnition as a
top young creative entrepreneur by Dazed, as well as being highlighted as a leading
new director by Boards and Shots, and was recentley invited to be a jury member for
the prestigious D&AD awards.

Fashion film featuring Daisy Lowe, for the Autumn/Winter 2010/11 collection
of Menswear label Percival.

Exclusively commissioned by Dazed & Confused and featured as part of onedotzero
and Dazed's Fashion in Film program at the BFI, Frankenfashion is being
screened alongside the works of Chris Cunningham, Solve Sundsbo & Saam Farahmand. In his contribution, Turvey takes inspiration from the mythical Dr Frankenstein
who took parts from different bodies to make a new being. Here, a macabre sequence
of events sees fashion follow suit, leading to a surreal and transformational climax.

I was invited by production company Blink Ink and director Noah Harris to
create three unique scenes which feature within the new Ford Fiesta commercial.
Having honed an obsession with all things glittery, I decided to take the creative
freedom and healthy budget of Ford’s brief to push my fixation to the next level.
The obvious choice was to build a four-foot rotating glitter heart and then
explode large volumes of glitter from a compressed air rig directly at a kissing
couple who had been painted matt black. My content is featured alongside the work of
modern day design luminaries such Rachel Thomas, Carl Burgess, Dan Tobin Smith and
Chrissie MacDonald.

Looking forward to see his next wondrous live action space world for the new
