INSIGHT OUT

Video projection on sculpture by Gillian Brown, 2002 10" high on 40" stand.
Inspired by an illustration by Descartes of visual perception, Insight Out is a meditation on inner and outer vision

CONTROL OF NATURE

44" x 42", black and white photographs.
Control of Nature layers dance step diagrams with kissing or dancing couples and, in the center of the work, one lone young woman seated amidst empty chairs. Scientific illustrations of planetary and water movement further enrich associations.

SHE TOOK IT TO HEART

56" x 56", black and white photographs.
Here a classroom chart of an "invisible" model man is juxtaposed with diagrams of common, often clicheed, sentences that make references to the human body ("She took heart," "He was galled," etc.).

U N T I T L E D (Andover)

In this piece, from the "Constructed Photographs" show at the Addison Gallery of American Art, a found photograph from the '50s of students painting on easels in the museum is painted life-size over several surfaces.

CASELY HAYFORD aw 2009

This Autumn/Winter 2009 Casely-Hayford collection represents designers, Joe and Charlie Casely-Hayford’s move to manufacturing in Japan. They “focus on a theme of English sartorialism and British anarchy – the spectrum of inspiration ranges from the urbane elegance of the Duke of Windsor to 21st century ‘Rude Boys’ and elements of London’s underground style culture.”
